Week Five — Bo & Freddie's Puppies
Five weeks old and this week has been one of the most exciting yet — not just for the puppies, but for the families who came to meet them for the very first time
Here is what has been happening this week…
• This week we had our first three family puppy visits. Seeing the moment families meet their puppy for the first time is one of my absolute favourite parts of what I do
• Bo had a very well deserved trip to the groomers this week, she came back looking absolutely fabulous and very pleased with herself
• The puppies are now fully on solid food and becoming less reliant on Bo, weaning is going brilliantly and mealtimes are as enthusiastic and messy as ever
• Toys have been introduced for the very first time this week, the reactions have been great
• The puppies are becoming more adventurous and exploratory every day, confidence is growing by the hour
• The puppies are being introduced to everyday sounds around the house and beyond, hoover, television, fireworks, thunder, other animal noises, trains, babies crying and many more, all helping to build confident, well rounded dogs who won't be fazed by the world around them
• The puppies are starting to recognise and respond to my voice which is just the loveliest thing to experience
• Handling and socialisation is increasing every day, lots of cuddles, lots of human contact, all laying the foundations for the wonderful family dogs they are going to become
• Nails trimmed again this week, our weekly essential
• Sleeping patterns are more relaxed now, rather than piling on top of each other they are spreading out and settling more independently
Five weeks old and these puppies are absolutely coming into their own. We couldn't be more proud of every single one of them
