7-Week-Old Puppy Development: Nearly Ready for the Big Wide World

At seven weeks old, the puppies are full of life, curiosity, and character. This is a big week in their development as they start showing signs of readiness for the transition to their forever homes.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening:

  • 🐶 Full of Personality: Each puppy now has a distinct personality — playful, cheeky, calm, or curious. It’s lovely to see them becoming little individuals.

  • 🧠 Learning Through Play: They’re constantly learning from each other through play — testing limits, reading body language, and fine-tuning their bite control.

  • 🐾 Growing Independence: While Bo is still nearby, the pups are now mostly independent, eating well on solid food and spending more time exploring away from mum.

  • 🧍 Bonding With People: Human interaction is more meaningful — they’re more responsive to voices, love cuddles, and may start following people around.

  • 🌍 Exploring the Environment: We’re gradually introducing them to new sights, sounds, and safe spaces to build confidence and prepare them for life beyond the litter.

  • 💉 Health Milestones: All puppies have now been microchipped, and their initial vet checks are scheduled to take place in the coming week.

With just one week to go before they begin their next big adventure, this stage is a blend of excitement, learning, and a bit of mischief!
